VVSD Alumni Board of Directors

"HERE TO SERVE'

HOME

Chairman Jym V

I've had what the Big Book calls "an entire psychic change". How do I know? VVSD alumni decided I would make a good Chairperson. Those veterans told me, "We can count on you", and "We trust your judgment". I ask God to continue to make me into the veteran, the friend, the man who can live up to the responsibilities bestowed upon me.

Vice-Chairman Buddy S

Buddy is a diverse man who exemplifies balance. In addition to being a highly visible alumni around VVSD, he also takes classes in his spare time. With all the above mentioned there is the family afterward in which Buddy is presently living life happily with his special lady, two birds, 20 fish, a salamander named Godzilla.

Vernon P

Finds it a privilege to be able to return to VVSD in any capacity, be it to attend a meeting, participate in the carwash, or give away some of the experience, strength, and hope he has received as a result of his stay at VVSD. Now he is member of the Board of Directors of the VVSD Alumni Association. Still giving back what was so freely given to him.

Clint R

Is a man who possesses a wide range of interest. An apparent love for animals, he is a member of the German Shepard Working Dog Club Association, and has an affinity for horse racing. He is an avid NFL fan and enjoys track and field. He also enjoys the Professionals Women's Tennis Tour. Presently he is an fulltime employee of the VAMC nursing service.

Roy P

I threw myself into my recovery and became involved in as much as possible at VVSD. I have represented this wonderful program in a large variety of ways; at various functions and with commitments. I served my brothers and sisters in recovery as the VVSD Peer Council Mayor, Vice President and Model Resident.
I am looking forward to this opportunity to meet and serve the fallen service members who will remind me so much of myself. I look forward to serving you well as an Alumni Association Board Member.

Peter C

My name is Peter C. I started with the ADTP Program at the VA hospital for 28 days. From there I went to VVSD for a year. From there I went to the New Resolve Program in Escondido for two years (don't ask about the logistics). In four years of clean and sober time I have had 8 sponsors and have lived in 5 different programs. The only time I make any progress with myself in recovery is when I have a sponsor.
